Particle Measuring Systems Announces the BioCapt® Single-Use Microbial Impactor for Air Sampling
- Created: Tuesday, 08 December 2015 08:39
New microbial air sampler minimizes false positives and eliminates costly sterilization steps
December 3, 2015, Boulder, CO - The BioCapt® Single-Use Microbial Impactor, designed by and offered exclusively through Particle Measuring Systems, helps minimize false positives for microbial activity in pharmaceutical cleanrooms by reducing contamination from handling of microbial plates.
This results in a decrease in the number investigations and time associated with those investigations, allowing personnel to focus on improving production operations. Additionally, many costly and time consuming sterilization steps, such as autoclaving, disinfecting, handling and logistics are eliminated
The New Stability Reference , 6 Times better
- Created: Monday, 12 October 2015 14:28
Turbiscan™ TOWER is the new spearhead of the Turbiscan range to fully characterise the stability of concentrated dispersions (emulsions, suspensions, foams). Its innovative and patented design enables the study of up to 6 samples at once.
Turbiscan™ TOWER accelerates and documents ageing test for a fast and deep understanding of destabilisation mechanisms (creaming, sedimentation, flocculation, coalescence) .
PDA and Particle Measurement Systems partner on a better understanding of USP updates

Particle Measuring Systems know the most cited observations with regulatory bodies is because of aseptic processing deficiencies. We also know it’s hard to keep up on the continuous changes to standards and regulations made to support the quality and safety of finished drug products
New automated particle counting system to analyse large sample numbers
- Created: Friday, 15 May 2015 12:16
The newly developed Pamas AS3 autosampling system analyses several hundred samples per day with unattended operation
Many laboratories are using automatic particle counters to determine the solid contamination within their fluid samples. In most cases, standard sample systems are sufficient for everyday laboratory measurements. Difficulties arise when a high number of sample measurements are required daily.
Lasair III – A true little gem of an instrument!
- Created: Friday, 15 May 2015 11:27
I had the opportunity recently to give some training on a Lasair III particle counter to a new customer. In preparation I reviewed the features of the instrument by scanning its manual. Reading through the manual reminded me again what a well-designed an versatile instrument the Lasair III is ! In my experience a customer wants to make a simple measurement to check the air quality quickly in an area, or they want to test to standard like ISO 14644-1.
BioCapt® Single-Use Microbial Impactor
- Created: Monday, 23 February 2015 15:53
The BioCapt® Single-Use Microbial Impactor utilizes a radial slit impactor design with the added benefit of risk and cost reduction. The fully prepared and sterilized unit eliminates agar plate preparation and minimizes operator handling. Operator sample handling has been directly linked to costly false-positive investigations. As a ready-to-use sterilized unit, the BioCapt Microbial Impactor (Single-Use) eliminates unintended contamination by removing operator interaction with media and sterile re-usable stainless steel impactor heads. The BioCapt Microbial Impactor (Single-Use) achieves sampling with minimal air disruption and can be used to sample efficiently at 25 or 50 L/min to suit both routine monitoring and fast sampling needs.
Enveloped by standards
- Created: Monday, 29 September 2014 10:04
Every operation has a specification they need their material size to be within: Whether it’s ASTM specifications for aggregate operations, key performance indicators for crushers and SAGs, or blast metrics for explosives selection, these standards are crucial in streamlining an operation’s process.
A guide to continuous monitoring through photoanalysis
- Created: Monday, 28 July 2014 12:25
WipWare has been in the image analysis business for about 20 years commercially, so we’ve seen a wide range of mining and aggregate sites, all with their unique challenges. One thing that stays consistent with every operation is the need to reduce particle sizes to ideal sizes for example the extraction of minerals.
