How does it work ?

Send us a sample with  your offical order listing all the relevant details. We will send you the invoice and on receiving your EFT (send us proof please !) we will e-mail you your result. The most common mistake our customers make is to just send us samples without any paperwork ! 

How much sample?

Normally we test a material eith as a powder or a slurry (typically in water). The technique we used called laser diffraction requires dilution of a sample in air or in a liquid (typically water, although organic dispersants can also be used). So a couple of grams is ideal. We can measure samples captured on filters ( ideally membrane filters rather than glass fibre filters) but we need at least 250 to 500 mg of sample. We can measure turbid water samples at around 1g/l or higher but slighlty cloudy or potable water is not possible.

Can you measure nano materials ?

Yes depending on the expected size range. Our Mastersizer 300 can measure from 10 nm up to 2 400 um (2 400 000 nm !), but if you have a  true nanometer  material  less than 100 nm another technique called dynamic light scattering is better or using an electron microscope. Our local universities has this type of instrumentation .  In any case we can quickly tell you if you have a nano material (above 10 nm!) or a micron sized material with some sub micron particles .

Can you give me my results in Excell ?

Yes on request . Please ask with your sample submission and not after we reported your results in pdf format as it creates extra work for us!
